The vision at Sharon Pittman Art is to provide collectors, galleries, and all other art enthusiasts well-executed works that preserve the history and culture of the American West, and the beauty of the great outdoors.

Sharon Pittman is an award-winning artist, retired art and humanities educator, and author of the book The Museum for the People. The book is an adaptation of her doctoral dissertation. She is a native of San Francisco, California but her art is a reflection of the Texas roots that run deep on the maternal side of her family. The Black cowboys that are often depicted in her works are efforts to prevent the erasure of their historical and cultural contributions. They are part of her own family’s history.
